Dopo un lungo silenzio, gli
Aero Dynamics (Il team che stava sviluppando il DC-10/KC-10 gratuito) hanno rilasciato un nuovo dev update:
Good Afternoon everyone ,
We are very happy to share a long-overdue but extremely positive update on the state of our projects.
The DC-10-30 and KC-10 remain fully active and are our primary long-term commitment.
They have never been cancelled, placed on hold, or deprioritized. Our DC-10 aircraft will be released as originally promised, and right now they are progressing faster and more consistently than at any point in our past.
For context: building a true study-level trijet with a small part-time team repeatedly led to cycles of completing systems, discovering significantly better or more accurate implementations, and then rebuilding them from the ground up. While this ensured exceptional fidelity, it came at the cost of momentum and risked the entire project collapsing from exhaustion.
Earlier this year we made a strategic decision: temporarily pause parallel development across all DC-10 systems and focus the team on a smaller, fully scoped aircraft. The explicit goal was to solve the architectural, tooling, and workflow challenges that were holding us back, prove every solution in a shipped product, and then bring those hardened systems directly to the trijet.
That decision has proven transformative.
Over the past seven months we have refined and production-proven:
- Deep integration with MSFS 2024 systems and Navigraph navdata
- Scalable LVAR and shared-memory architecture
- Clean, maintainable WASM modules that remain readable at airliner gauge counts
- Physically accurate instrument and gyro modeling
- A complete end-to-end development pipeline that survives multi-year projects
- Robust multi-variant management
- Groundwork for advanced future features on complex airliners
All of these solutions are now being integrated into the DC-10 and KC-10 codebase.
Important platform update:
The DC-10-30 and KC-10 will be developed and released exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. After careful evaluation, continuing active development for the MSFS 2020 platform alongside 2024 would split our very small team’s resources, dramatically slow progress, and ultimately compromise the quality and depth we have promised. The architectural improvements introduced with MSFS 2024 (especially around Sim Attachments, memory handling, and WASM performance) are essential for delivering a genuine study-level three-crew airliner with fully interactive systems, accurate flight dynamics, and the level of detail you expect from us. Focusing on a single, modern platform is the only realistic way we can finish and support the aircraft properly.
The aircraft that made this breakthrough possible is now available to everyone:
Now Released – Aero Dynamics T-38 Professional
Trailer:
The T-38 has been a team effort between Aero Dynamics, Infinity, and Delta Simulations . This project was never a detour for its own sake; it was the perfect proving ground that allowed us to solve the hardest problems standing between us and a finished study-level DC-10/KC-10. Every system, every workflow, and every lesson learned is already accelerating the trijet. This jet broke new ground with our development at Aero Dynamics. With Navigraph data integration, external flight planning, and much more, we are sure this will scratch the itch of at least the military aircraft fans. We owe an enormous thank-you to everyone who has supported us through the long quiet periods — your encouragement, reference materials, testing help, and patience in Discord have meant more than you can imagine.
The trijet is alive, healthier than ever, and the entire team is energized and genuinely excited about what comes next.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Clear skies,
The Aero Dynamics Team
